Not a visitor – beware of playing with the Secretary!!
On Tuesday 12th September, the Association visited Mullion Golf Club the most southerly course in the UK with beautiful views over Mounts Bay and weather to match.
A special thanks to all the members who traveled from the East(wise men?) of the county to support this event. Our treasurer Mike making the long journey and having to return directly afterwards (sadly my evening with BRADLEY WIGGINS was cancelled as his wife fell ill) The course in great condition, the weather in our favour, what could go wrong? Well if you ask our winners today “nothing” Brian Pound and Allan Evans from St Mellion carding a creditable 40pts. Second was Fred Grist and Kelvin Searle (current West Cornwall Seniors KO Champion) with 39pts. Third place losing on countback went to Don Smith and Brian Crichton. Nearest the Pin (16th with the pin just over the bunkers)) was won by Preston Ford who was heard to say the only way to get near that pin is to drop it short of the bunkers and bounce it over. This he admirably demonstrated moments later. Finally, there were no twos today so a card draw took place sharing the entrance monies. Congratulations to those winners.
